Course

Hole 10 – The back nine opens with a short par 4, only stretching out to 360 yards.  A large bunker covers the left half of the fairway in the landing zone.  The green slopes heavily from back to front,  but also from left to right.  It’s not uncommon to see balls end up on the front right portion of the putting surface. Making par is always a welcome score here.
 

Hole 11 – The first par 5 on the back nine provides an immediate challenge off the tee.  Out of bounds runs the entire length of the hole on the right side, and a small pond is lurking on the left hand side of the hole, right near the landing zone.  A large depression at the end of the fairway can give some players fits, but the green is one of the largest on the golf course, and is one of the flattest.  Getting home in two takes some risk, but the reward could be an easy 4, or maybe even the rare 3.

Hole 12 – The twelfth is a beautiful par 3 that shows the Zoar Valley and Cattaraugus Creek  to the right.  A 160 yard par 3 that has approximately 50 feet of drop off from tee to green makes selecting the correct club a challenge.  The green is small, and slopes heavily from left to right, towards the valley. Making 3 here is never guaranteed, but those who do, usually run to the next tee.

Hole 13 – One of the longest par 4’s on our golf course is another hole that provides a challenge off the tee.  A red staked penalty area flanks the right side of the hole off the tee, and a large pond creeps into the left side of the fairway in the landing zone.  Hitting into this green, which is slightly raised above the fairway, is straightforward if the player does hit the fairway off the tee.  The putting green is the largest on the golf course, but has some of the most subtle and intense undulating slopes. Once again, a par 4 here is hard to come by.

Hole 14 – Our newest signature hole, the fourteenth is a picturesque par 3 that stretches out to 180 yards.  A Buffalo, Rochester and Pittsburgh Railroad trestle stretches over the Cattaraugus Creek and is visible from the tee and green.  A large facing bunker hides the right side of the green, but the putting surface is receptive to incoming shots.

Hole 15 – The fifteenth is the second shortest par 4 on the golf course at only 352 yards.  However, the entirety of the hole is uphill.  Out of bounds runs the length of the right side of the hole, and covers a narrow fairway.  The green is small, but fairly flat in comparison to others.

Hole 16 – The shortest par 4 on the course, is a slight dogleg to the left.  The fairway ends at 225 yards from the back tees, and the putting green sits down below the fairway by 30 feet.  A slender green that undulates from right to left, necessitates an accurate second shot to have a chance at par.

Hole 17 – The longest par 3 on the golf course is not without its challenges.  The same pond from number eleven stretches out into the left side in front of seventeen green.  Two bunkers flank the right side of the green.  The green is ample in size, and fairly flat.  Players who can hit the green in regulation have excellent chances at par, but those who don’t could see a quick bogey.

Hole 18 – The longest hole on the golf course, this par 5 is a true three shot hole.  The tee shot is slightly uphill, but the rest of the fairway gently sweeps down towards the green.  There are bunkers flanking the fairway at the landing zone, and another bunker further up near the second shot landing zone.  The green is the longest, but most narrow green on the course, and is three tiered.  When the flag is in the front third of the green, pars and birdies are plentiful, but when the flag is towards the back, it changes the complexity of the hole entirely.
