Happy Bills Victory Tuesday. I apologize for the delay in the post, as our internet at the club has been down for quite a few days. This past week was certainly exciting, with a wonderful showing by our club and golf course for the NYSGA Senior Amateur Championship. The players had nothing but lovely things to say about our golf course, even though it was soft and damp, it still proved to be a difficult test of golf. Special shout-out to our four members who played: Paul Hoffstetter, Sr., Michael Carrig, Sr., Dave Lindstrom and Brian McGahey. All four were in the top half of the leaderboard in their respective divisions, and Paul even led the Super Senior division for 34 holes. Great playing!
Looking at this week, there are a few things to note as we move forward. The Springville Varsity Golf Team has two matches this week: Wednesday and Thursday. They will tee off at 3pm, and as such, will close the first tee for a bit. Also this week is the Fall Classic on Friday and Saturday. The tee will be open at 7:30am, for walkers only as there will be no electric carts available, and all players must be off the golf course by 11:30am.
Lastly, there are still two events available for sign ups: the Ryder Cup, which is October 8th, and open to Men and Women and Pro Day, which is on October 15th, and is a four person scramble, with guests welcome. For more information on either event, ask Dave or Jeff in the Golf Shop.
With those few things out of the way, here is the weekly outlook.
