What a beautiful week we had at the club. The weather was fantastic, and the golf course is mint. I have to start this week’s post with a big congratulations to Tom Feeley and Brian Attea on winning, wire to wire, the Founder’s Day Member / Member. After a first round 59, Tom and Brian shot a tumultuous 66 to capture victory by 1 shot over 3 other teams. Larry Broad and Mark Welka, Jay Lucernoni and John Marchese, and Pat Loomis and Joe Benzinger all finished at a two day total of 126, just shy of the Feeley/Attea total of 125. Quick shoutout to Pat Feeley and Aiden Feeley, who in their first tournament ever, had a very solid showing scoring a two day total of 127. Jerry Jenkins and Bob Gradwell kept up with the youngsters and also shot a 127. Thank you to everyone who played! What an awesome start to the tournament season for the 100th year.

Now looking ahead, sign ups are still in place for many events including: the George Schichtel Member / Member or Member / Guest, the Clif Cunningham Member / Member, the Ange Alberico Scratch Invitational, the Men’s President’s Cup, the July 16th ride along history event, the Ladies President’s Cup, Ladies 4 Gal Scramble and finally the Ladies Guest Day. Please call the Pro Shop to sign up. So far, our sign ups are strong for all of these events, and Dave and I want to continue this trend throughout the season.

This week also marks the start of the Senior Men’s League on Wednesday Mornings. For those playing, please see the schedule that is posted in the locker room, and contact your playing competitors to set up your game. Typical tee off times range from 9am to 10am.

A few notes on the golf course. For those who may not know, there is a mirror on the tree behind 16 tee. Please use it to see if there are any groups that may be in the fairway that can’t be seen. Dave and I have had reports of groups being hit into while they are playing the second shots into the green. Please be courteous, and give a look before teeing off; not just on 16, but on all holes on our golf course. Additionally, damaged areas from tree removal are ground under repair, as are wood chipped areas until further notice. As Brian always states in his blog: please sand your divots on tees and in the fairways, and repair your ball marks on the greens. Please do not sand your divots in the rough.

With all of that out of the way, here is the weekly outlook: PLEASE NOTE THE MONDAY OUTING & TUESDAY THE 24th.
