Things are really starting to ramp up, other than the weather sadly. There are loads of events to sign up for in the Pro Shop: Men’s Founders Day Member / Member, George Schichtel Member / Member or Member / Guest, the July Ride Along History event hosted by Dave and former Grounds Superintendent Roger Bugenhagen, the Ladies 4 Gal Scramble, the Ladies June Guest Day, the Ladies Clinic and Mixer and the Ladies Thursday morning league. This is the final week of open golf all week before our leagues kick in. Dave has gotten a few new things in the shop, such as Donald Ross men’s shirts, some FootJoy shirts, Titleist Hats, Balls & Gloves, and ladies IBKul tops and bottoms. Dave has a nice selection of shoes in stock, as well as a full compliment of wedges with different lofts, bounces and grinds. As a reminder, Danielle is still selling raffle tickets to help offset some costs of all the 100th anniversary events this year. Tickets are $100 and payable on your member charge. The drawing will be held on August 27th. Thanks to everyone who has supported the raffle thus far.

Congratulations to the winning team of the Opening Scramble Event. The team of Ray Latona, Pete Purcell, Nick Romano and Jerry Jenkins fired a smooth 66. Don Brady, Tom Quinn and Toni Sawyer also fired a 66, but lost in a match of cards against the Latona team. Congrats to the winners, and thanks to all who played!

Lastly, Dave and I would like to give a quick shout out to “the Lads” in the grounds department. Brian and his crew did a great job sliding in the back 9 aeration in between rain storms. The whole golf course is in great shape, and the greens area healing nicely. Along with this, please remember that all damaged areas from tree removal and wood chipped areas are ground under repair until further notice. Also, please repair all ball marks on the greens, and please sand or replace your divots on the tees and fairways. Sand Bottles are positioned at the pro shop and 10th tee for your convenience, and we appreciate you using them. Finally, after errant shots, please yell “FORE” to warn other surrounding golfers. Unfortunately I was almost pegged the other day without warning. (Sidebar, lessons are $50, and I promise the errant shots will diminish just after one lesson)

With that out of the way, here is the weekly outlook:
