We have hit the ground running for the month of August. Already the lads have installed new landscape beds at 8 and 15 tee. These areas will be planted with all the plant material from behind one tee all off which was existing or donated. Cheryl has already put her magic touch on the bed at 8 and is currently working on the bed at 15. This week the lads will give her a hand in removing the remaining plants as we make way for the renovation of 1 tee. The contractor will be mobilizing equipment on Monday August 16th and commencing work on Tuesday the 17th. The first two days of the project we plan on closing the hole so that our crew can strip the men’s and ladies tee sod and use it across the road on number one. Along with the sod from our nursery we will have enough to extend the fairway to the road.

On Tuesday August 10th we will close number one for the day as we strip out the sod in preparation for the sod from one tee. The hole will be placed back in play as soon as we have completed removing the old rough that exists between the road and the fairway. Once our crew is done we will create a temporary tee for members to tee off from during tee renovations as well as the remainder of the season. Before construction begins on one tee we will rope off along the side walk behind the tee so that members will still have access to the pro-shop and locker rooms.

Along with renovations at one and twelve tee I remind to mark calendars for greens aerification August 23rd (front) August 24th (back). Once we have finished greens we will jump straight away on fairways and tees. Tees we can aerify during play without closing the hole, fairways I will post the day before we begin which holes will be closed. Cores will be pulled dragged in, blown off and the hole placed back in play. Thank you for patience during this very busy month of August, and a very special thank you to those members who have extended and their gratitude generous recognition of our crew.

Nick and Dylan have been busy on number 15. First, finding and opening up, then flushing existing drainage. The peat bog to the left of the fairway will be welled out, tile extended, new stone placed then sodden over.
Fairway on upper part of 15 flushed a riser put in and new drainage stone.
At first I thought someone was upset over missing a putt on 16. Please if your ball lands on 16 green from 12 tee find a good area no closer to the hole in the rough and hit from there out of courtesy to your fellow members. Thank you.
Although this looks like a crime scene, and actually could be considered one, please spray any sunscreen or bug repellent on your person in the parking lot or on the sidewalk or cart path.
