Good Saturday morning all. It has been another busy week for the team. With Memorial Day kicking off the summer season this week it’s no surprise that we are headed into a stretch of summer heat. Currently we have all but the drinking fountain at the rain shelter on 14 in operating order. I would encourage taking along a reusable water bottle to refill as you hit the golf course this weekend and the next 10 days. The urinal in the men’s room at the Schictel was backed up and we discovered a crack in it while being serviced. A new one has been ordered and will be installed hopefully next week, thank you for your patience. We continue to add ropes and posts to control cart traffic throughout the golf course. I ask that you please keep carts 30 feet from greens and exit the fairway to the cart path side of the hole unless directed otherwise. We recieved another pallet of divot sand yesterday and I encourage all our walkers to grab a bottle at the cart barn or at 10. Again if a healthy divot is taken go ahead and replace it, all other thin strikes please use the mix. The divot program is working, thank you, and keep it going. Also please be sure to fix your ball mark and one other before leaving each green.
In other maintenance news this week, Nick and the lads went through and edged, raked out stones, and weed wacked bunkers this week. You will also notice that all those landscape beds that were weeded, and rototilled this week, are filling up with flowers. We took delivery on our flowers this past week and Master Gardener Cheryl Ambrose and the team are busy placing them in beds around the clubhouse and golf course. A huge thank you to Jim and Sandy Chavanne for donating some wonderful plant material both this season as we as last that Cheryl has made good use of throughout the golf course especially 7 ladies tee. A huge thank you to Linda Priselac for treating the crew to lunch this week, and thank to all for kind words and compliments as we ramp up the 2021 golf season.
