I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday weekend. We finish the weekend a beautiful cool July day. Yesterday I decided to give my sister who visiting from Jax FL a tour of our golf course. As we came down the 219 around 11 AM there were cars that had pulled over because the rain was coming down so hard. By the time we pulled into the club around 11:30 members were hurrying between raindrops to exit the golf course. I’ve never seen so much water on 10 and 11 fairway so much like a river. We had three inches in the rain gauge this morning. Practically ever bunker had washouts again. Despite the fact we have heavy course sand in our bunkers that amount of rain will move rock. I cut greens this a.m. as the crew went through and whipped the bunkers back in shape. Thanks crew.
As i stated in my news letter the remainder of the month our focus will be on preparing the property for the invitational. With our new tee signs finally installed we cleaned up the excess soil and will come back with fresh topsoil and seed. This week we will also finish the drainage on one.
Nick double cuts greens 4th of July morning while Dan rolls behind him. Well done lads.
Nick had the crew clean up the lower area off of 13 tee and open the short cut back to the Eisenhower Tree.
With 18 tee sign being the last installed, Dylan, Alex and Dale went back through and cleaned up around all the signs. Strong work lads.
