This past week the crew collectively knocked it out of the park. With first jobs a priority in preparing the golf course for play second jobs usually fill the remainder of the day. A very special thanks to Bob Smith for donating nineteen Hydrangea shrubs for our screening hedge at the back of four tee. Nick, Dylan and Dan prepared the holes and muscled the plants into place. Wire and burlap were removed to allow roots to reach out and take hold quickly. Thanks again Bob.
Earlier in the week the lads managed to trim and edge bunkers again. We have fit this into the schedule every three weeks.
A very special thanks to our head Gardener Cheryl Ambrose for over seeing the planting of our flowers. With mulch scheduled for Tuesday our plan is to have all beds mulched by the end of the week.
Thank you to all who have reached out through phone calls, texts, and email to pass along your accolades to our crew for a job well done. I’d like to mention some of the things that you can do as a member to help us maintain our course. Please make sure to fix your ball mark and one other. Replace your divot or make sure you fill the depression with divot mix. Also please take care in where we are driving and staging your golf cart. Carts should not be parked on approaches and kept at least thirty feet from the green. On par 3’s I would ask that you stage your cart at the green and walk to arrant shots wide of the green. Traffic control is important in reducing ware and tear of our turf and I will continue to shift traffic in areas throughout the golf course that reduce turf quality.
