Course Update

As the sun rises on a another forecasted hot day, we continue to fight the heat. With the last rain over a week ago and just chance of a passing shower today we continue pump the irrigation. Yesterday we vented greens by poking 1/8″ holes 3″ deep. The reasoning behind this practice is to not only let gasses out of the root zone but to allow oxygen in. Once completed we applied a blend of granular fertilizers with two types of nitrogen and minor elements for turf health and to aid in recovery. Although our irrigation system will get us through there is no substitute for a good thunder boomer. Thank you for your patience as we get through this heat and remember, divot mix should only be applied to Fairways, Tees, and approaches and remember to fix your ball mark and one other. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns or suggestions.
